Extremely vigorous turf-grass alternative! 'Green Carpet' describes this very low-growing groundcover which can be maintained by mowing to keep dense and clean. Once established, this bamboo is very drought tolerant. Excellent on slopes and other difficult areas, providing erosion control. Spreading root system needs to be contained. Very cold hardy, but not evergreen. Mow annually in early spring for best effect. Maximum height to 2 ft, uncut. Native to Japan. Use in pots or containers, as well as a groundcover.
